Meet the makers.
MS Wood is the father–son duo of Matt and Micah, working side by side to create custom timber furniture of the highest quality. With a shared passion for craftsmanship and design, they bring traditional skills and fresh ideas together to build pieces that are as enduring as they are beautiful.
Matt
Designer, Creator & Founder
Matt has been working with timber for over 30 years and founded MS Wood in 2016 to share his passion for handmade furniture with you. Matt loves finding unique pieces of timber and designing pieces that highlight the natural colour and grain of the timber. Matt personally leads the collaboration and design process with all our clients, and is still ‘hands on’ in the workshop, working with Micah to craft each piece we create. Matt is a qualified cabinet maker. When he’s not in the workshop, Matt is usually cooking, hiking or riding his bike.
Micah
Creator
Micah has always wanted to work with his hands, and spent lots of time in our workshop during high school. After completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter/joiner, Micah returned to the family business and his skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in every piece of beautiful furniture we build. Micah is also the creative brains behind our photography and videography you see of our work. When Micah’s not building furniture he’s building LEGO or hanging out with his mates.
